Margaret Greene worked with Thomas Merrick to analyze current research on the causes and consequences for adolescent girls’ early sexual activity, pregnancy and childbearing as part of a World Bank project. Effects of adolescent pregnancy and childbearing on girls’ prospects: A review of literature was presented at the World Bank’s Tackling Adolescent Reproductive Health: Impacts and Interventions to Address Them meeting.
Greene and Merrick built on this analysis to assess promising programmatic interventions, and the findings are of interest to a number of donors, including the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Funders Network on Population, Reproductive Health and Rights.
